HOST A BLOCK PARTY

Need guidance in planning a neighborhood event? NeighborWorks Lincoln is here to help!

What type of event are you planning?

  • Private Party: Event will be on private property (like your house/yard). No additional permits are needed.
  • Street Closure: Event will impact public right-of-way (from sidewalk to sidewalk). The street will be closed and the right-of-way will in some way potentially be impacted. You will need to obtain a Block Party Permit from the City of Lincoln. This will take a few weeks, so be sure to make that request at least four weeks ahead of time.
  • Neighborhood Celebration: Planning resources available from Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln.
  • Public Park: Event will impact a public park. You will need permission from Lincoln Parks and Recreation.

Note: Events with vendors, very large attendance, live performances, or exceeding the normal capacity of a park reservation, may be required to get a Special Event Permit (see below). The permitting process is different for parks and other public spaces, so plan ahead.
