In addition to building new homes, NeighborWorks Lincoln purchases and extensively renovates existing homes that we also prioritize for buyers that have completed the NeighborWorks Homebuyer Education Course. Our development team ensures that all renovated homes meet the same quality and safety standards that apply to new construction. The principal difference with acquisition/rehab is an overt focus on preventing unexpected repair or maintenance issues in the first three years of homeownership. In addition to layout improvements and modernization, we work to address any vulnerabilities within foundations, roofs, water heaters, HVAC units, windows, siding, etc. before selling the home to an income-qualified individual or family.

This 1320 square-foot historic home is located in the Malone neighborhood allowing easy access to many central Lincoln amenities. The renovations include adding an additional upstairs bedroom and bathroom along with stainless steel kitchen appliances, new paint, countertops, and flooring. In total, the home provides 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a detached garage, and a spacious back yard. 

This home is being financed by the Middle Income Workforce Housing Fund and will be sold to households making under 120% of Area Median Income.

This historic duplex located in the near south neighborhood will retain much of its characteristic feel with refinished wood floors and original trim throughout while also being updated into the 21st century with improvements such as the conversion of the home to all electric. The ground floor unit will be 2 bedrooms, 1 bath with 982sqft of living space and the second-floor unit will be 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom with 764sqft of living space.

This project is a partnership between NeighborWorks Lincoln, South of Downtown Community Development Organization, and the City of Lincoln's Rental Rehab Program.
