Capitol View

NeighborWorks Lincoln (NWL) started work in the Capitol View area in 2024 under the Comprehensive Community Development model first implemented in the Malone/Hawley neighborhood. A dedicated community builder fostered relationships with both partner organizations and residents through community events and a "baseline" study - the 2024 Community Impact Measurement (CIM).

The Capitol View area is bounded by 17th and 27th Streets and O and D Streets, and includes parts of the Downtown Lincoln, Capitol View, Woods Park, and Near South neighborhoods. The area for the 2024 Community Impact Measurement (CIM) had smaller boundaries due to survey limitations.

Community Impact Measurement (CIM)

With a team of volunteers, NWL surveyed 111 residents and observed the state of 100 buildings and every "block." Findings from this study were analyzed and can be reviewed here.

The work in the Capitol View area has really just started, and NWL will be focusing year two (2025) on sharing what was learned from the CIM with residents and stakeholders.
