Homeownership Program

Due to COVID-19 there will be no in-person, face-to-face classes for the foreseeable future. However, we are still accepting applications for the program and are offering the education online. Access to a computer and internet is required. If you would like more information, please apply for the program online. (It typically takes 2-4 business day for your application to be processed)

Are you considering buying a home? Our Homeownership Program can help you decide whether home ownership is right for you. If you’re ready for the next steps, we’ll guide you through the process by providing education and an assistance loan for down-payment, closing costs and rehabilitation to qualifying individuals.

Steps in the Process

The first step is to apply for the program. It typically takes 2-4 business days for your application to be processed. If you are approved, you will be invited to take the home buyer classes. (Please note: even if you do not qualify for the down payment assistance, you can still attend the classes.) After you complete the classes, you will meet with our Homeownership Coordinator to obtain approval for an assistance loan. Afterward, you will meet with the lender for your first mortgage loan pre-approval. Finally, find a good Realtor to help you find your new home.

We open doors for people to achieve their dreams of home ownership and for others who desire a safe and attractive neighborhood.

I wasn’t sure how to move forward, but then I heard about NeighborWorks. It is truly an amazing program…I hope more people use this great service to help themselves and to help Lincoln look better. Thanks, NWL!
