Virtual Presentation: History and Impact in Malone/Hawley
06.04.20
Please join NeighborWorks Lincoln on Tuesday, June 9th from 1-2:30pm for a virtual presentation on the “History and Impact in Malone/Hawley.” The history of the Malone/Hawley neighborhood involves the vibrant, early African-American neighborhood, the devastating effects of red-lining and the Northeast Radial, then, the long road back. We will highlight neighborhood connectedness, history, and the impact of community revitalization efforts made by NeighborWorks Lincoln, the City of Lincoln, residents and others.
With the help of many partners, NeighborWorks Lincoln has assisted many low-to-moderate income homeowners to purchase homes, built relationships, and strengthened community participation. After months of research, including 180 resident interviews and 325 property evaluations, NeighborWorks will be presenting the impact made over the last 10 years of work in the area. We are proud of the work that has been accomplished, and appreciate the many partners that help us to accomplish our work: the City of Lincoln, especially Urban Development, Nebraska DED, the residents of Malone/Hawley and the Malone Center.
