Financial Fitness
Financial Fitness improves the financial stability of participants, better prepares them for homebuyer education, and improves their chances of qualifying for a home purchase loan.
Description
- The program consists of 4 hours of classroom training. Classes are held on a Saturday, twice a year, or as needed.
- An additional session is held at Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) to develop a personal financial plan for each participating household. This session lasts approximately 1 hour.
- A follow-up session is available to track progress at CCCS three months after graduation from Financial Fitness.
- The FDIC "Money Smart" curriculum is used, along with other resources from NeighborWorks America.
- Credit reports are reviewed privately with each participant.
- One year after graduation, the participant’s credit report is reviewed to evaluate progress. When NeighborWorks staff thinks you are ready, then you will be invited to enroll in the NeighborWorks®Lincoln Homebuyer Education program.
