Description:
- Twelve homebuyer education courses are taught each year: 15-20 households participate each time.
- The course takes two weeks to complete. Three hour sessions are offered four times over a two week time period, for a total of 12 classroom hours.
- Lead educators are NeighborWorks®Lincoln staff members with over 25 years of experience.
- Classes are offered in Spanish, Russian, and Vietnamese.
Class topics include:
- Analyzing and managing finances, budget and credit
- Evaluating homes and affordability
- Working with Realtors and neighborhood leaders
- Understanding financial paperwork, closing costs, and money needed for purchasing a home
- Learning the rights and responsibilities of homeownership

If you are interested in taking these classes, complete a Homebuyer Education Application. After your application has been received, you will be notified of the next available class and how to reserve a seat. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Homebuyer Education is open to the public, and classes are held in the lower level meeting room of the NeighborWorks®Lincoln office at 2121 North 27th Street from 7:00 - 10:00 pm, two nights a week for two weeks. Day of the week alternates monthly and will be announced on a class by class basis. Registration is required.
