NeighborWorks Week
National NeighborWorks Week is a celebration of the accomplishments of the NeighborWorks network and an opportunity to increase visibility and build community partnerships. NeighborWorks Week is held during the first week of June each year.
During NeighborWorks Week, local NeighborWorks organizations mobilize tens of thousands of volunteers, businesspeople, neighbors, friends and local and national elected and civic leaders in a week of neighborhood change and awareness. They rehab and repair homes, paint and landscape properties, conduct neighborhood tours, recognize successful partnerships, and host events that educate, train and inform. Thousands of families benefit from the week’s activities nationwide.
NeighborWorks Lincoln staff members are currently planning neighborhood beautification projects for 2012. Community volunteers are currently being recruited. Project ideas and updates will be provided soon.
Past projects have included litter clean ups, graffiti clean ups, landscaping/mulching projects, community mural projects, block parties, problem property potlucks and award luncheons. Projects have been completed in the Malone, Everett, Near South, Hartley and Clinton Neighborhoods.
