2009 High School House
Each year, Lincoln High School construction trades students build a new house, under supervision of their instructor and in partnership with NeighborWorks® Lincoln. The finished "high school house" is then sold to a qualified first-time homebuyer through NeighborWorks® Lincoln's homeownership program.

|
The program began in 1989. Since then, 22 new houses have been built and over 350 students have participated. Two groups of students meet daily to work on the home. The High School House program benefits students, homeowners and neighborhoods:

| The weather was 60 degrees and so volunteers got the windows set, house wrapped and the roof felted during the Dec. 13th work day. |

This three bedroom, one bath home was sold to a first time homebuyer in June. There is a two stall detached garage and a full unfinished basement. It was built as a highly energy efficient home and has some interesting "green building" components.
